Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection.

Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul.

Does man think that We shall not gather his bones?

Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips
M.H.Shakir 75:4

Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him.
M.H.Shakir 75:5

He asks: When is the day of resurrection?
M.H.Shakir 75:6

So when the sight becomes dazed,
M.H.Shakir 75:7
8
And the moon becomes dark,
M.H.Shakir 75:8
9
And the sun and the moon are brought together,
M.H.Shakir 75:9
10
Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to?
M.H.Shakir 75:10
11
By no means! there shall be no place of refuge!
M.H.Shakir 75:11
12
With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place ofrest.
M.H.Shakir 75:12
13
Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent beforeand (what he) put off.

Nay! man is evidence against himself,
M.H.Shakir 75:14
15
Though he puts forth his excuses.
M.H.Shakir 75:15
16
Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it,
M.H.Shakir 75:16

Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and thereciting of it.
M.H.Shakir 75:17

Therefore when We have recited it, follow itsrecitation.

Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it.
M.H.Shakir 75:19
20
Nay! But you love the present life,
M.H.Shakir 75:20
21
And neglect the hereafter.
M.H.Shakir 75:21
22
(Some) faces on that day shall be bright,
M.H.Shakir 75:22
23
Looking to their Lord.
M.H.Shakir 75:23
24
And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy,
M.H.Shakir 75:24
25
Knowing that there will be made to befall them somegreat calamity.
M.H.Shakir 75:25
26
Nay! When it comes up to the throat,
M.H.Shakir 75:26
27
And it is said: Who will be a magician?
M.H.Shakir 75:27
28
And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting
M.H.Shakir 75:28
29
And affliction is combined with affliction;
M.H.Shakir 75:29
30
To your Lord on that day shall be the driving.
M.H.Shakir 75:30
